A former lawmaker from Ebonyi State, Chief Tobias Chukwuemeka Okwuru, has been appointed member of Board of Federal Character Commission [FCC] by the President, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
However, Chief Okwuru died on February 28, 2020.
Late Okwuru appointment was announced, alongside 37 others, in a letter Buhari sent to the leadership of the Senate on 24 March 2020 for confirmation.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, had on Tuesday, read the letter during plenary.
Okwuru, who represented Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, died at the age of 59.
He served as Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State; Chief Whip of Ebonyi State House of Assembly; and later represented his constituency at the National Assembly.
