A nAll Progressive Congress [APC] councillor has been arrested for operating a Facebook account called ‘Osun Media Guru’, which he had allegedly been using to disparage Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Rasheed Raji, a councillor in Odo Otin North Local Council Development Area, on Monday was arrested by security operatives.

Raji represents Ward 15A, Oyan, in Odo Otin North LCDA

An associate of Raji, who preferred not be named, told our correspondent that the parliamentarian was arrested in his house in Osogbo in the morning.

He added that Raji was held and interrogated by the operatives for hours over allegations that he was running a pseudo-Facebook account through which he had attacked both Osun government and the governor.

But during a telephone conversation with our correspondent around 4:45pm, Raji said he had been released.

He told our correspondent he was arrested in his house in Osogbo by DSS operatives around 8:00am on Monday.

Although he declined further comment on what transpired while he was in the custody, Raji, however, said,

“I wrote a petition to our party chairman when they first alleged me of running a Facebook account with the name Osun Media Guru.

“I have been released. I was arrested around 8:00am in my house in Osogbo. We will address the issue in due course.”
