Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, commissioned the first private College of Education in Taraba State, Northern Nigeria.
This was made public by the picture shared on the official Facebook page of Atiku Abubakar few hours ago.
The former vice president during his speech stated that he had always advocated a mix of private and public efforts towards eradicating illiteracy.
He said for the country to curb illiteracy, we must have more teachers, noting that the current public capacity to train teachers is limited. He also stressed the need to setup private teacher training institutions to cover these lapses.
