Gunman opens fire on NYPD officers in Bronx
New York police officials said a second police officer has been shot in the Bronx, only hours after a gunman attacked officers in a patrol van.
Following the shooting at the patrol van, police cordoned off the area of East 163 St & Barretto Ave in the Bronx. Police warned people to keep off from the area and later issued a notice declaring a lone gunman wanted for the shooting of police officers on Simpson Street.
After the latest shooting, police warned people off the area of Southern Blvd & Longwood Ave in the Bronx “due to a police-involved shooting.”
“Expect emergency vehicles and traffic in the area. Update to follow,” the NYPD tweeted.
