The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), on Monday, reached out to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the North East.
NAFOWA distributed relief materials worth millions of Naira at Bama IDP Camp. The humanitarian gesture was executed by NAFOWA on behalf of the officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The National President of the body, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar expressed deep appreciations to officers and men of the NAF for their concern for the IDPs and the confidence reposed in the association to get the items to the affected persons.
Recall that few months ago the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar appealed to unit commanders to encourage their officers and men to make voluntary contributions to support the IDPs.
The initiative was meant to complement efforts by the government to alleviate the plight of the IDPs. Items distributed include foods, clothing, books, household needs and cash donation of over N12million.
