The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ondo, Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu, has emerged winner of the state’s governorship election which held on Saturday, November 26, 2016.

According to the results announced moments ago by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Akeredolu got the highest votes and is declared the new governor-elect.
However, beyond winning the governorship title, is acting in full capacity while in office. Below are five things by which Akeredolu will be judged, indeed, 5 things he must do while serving the Ondo people.
1. Increase The Internally Generated revenue
For the people of Ondo state to have a better living standard, then there has to be more revenue internally generated. Akeredolu must look into ways by which the state can generate money for the running of its affairs.
2. Create Jobs
If the revenue of Ondo state must change then there must be investments, there must be firms that would employ the citizens.
Job creation is essential, contacts need to be made on behalf of the people, the state must be made conducive for investments.
3. Focus on education
The education level in Ondo is poor at the moment and the state cannot progress if the people are not well educated. Great emphasis needs to to be placed on education, this way better enlightenment will come to the state.
4. Form an all inclusive cabinet
Akeredolu has to ensure that his cabinet is all inclusive, not just one based on party politics. It has to encompassing, comprising of only the best hands that can turn the tides in the state.
5. Unite the people of Ondo state
There is no doubt that elections divide people, hence, it is the duty of the new governor-elect to reconcile the people to himself. He won’t be ruling Ondo APC alone, but every one from Ondo state.
He has to serve in a capacity that shows he is bent on making Ondo state great, bent at putting the state on the map of progress.
Nigerians in general are a people that can be pleased with some level of dedication, the Ondo people will definitely love Akeredolu if within his tenure he can fix all five issues raised above.
