Twitter users raise N1m in 48hours for man whose wife and newborn got stranded at hospital for one month
Santa Claus sure came early for a family in Lagos when well-mean Nigerians hearkened to their cry for financial aid and raised N1m in 48 hours.
Two days ago, a Twitter user, Biggy Nony, via his handle, @LilNony1, called on Nigerians and fellow Twitter users to come to the aid of his wife and newly born child who had been held at a hospital in Lagos since November 6 because of his inability to settle their hospital bill.
Biggy Nony had tweeted:
“Please help me Nigerians my wife and child have been held up in the hospital since November 6th 2019 bcos we are unable to settle the Medical Bills shr gave birth through C.S which we didn’t plan towards it..I’m a Keke Napep Driver I’m pleading on you all to help me please.”
Well-meaning Nigerians were quick to respond and within 48 hours, the Nony family had gotten enough to settle their hospital bills and even have extra.
This does not include the material gifts they received.
As of the time of filing this report, the family had raised the sum of N960,000 in total.
