Last week, the internet was awash with a sex tape, showing two people – one, a female student of Babcock University and the other, a former student of the institution – having sex in what looked like a private hospital ward.

The video went viral, causing the school management to rusticate the female student, whom WuzupNigeria gathered was a 300 L student at the time of the incident.

Now, the man, simply identified as Olaoluwa, who shared the post on social media has apologised.

According to him, he shared the post out of excitement and not malicious reasons, explaining that he never thought of the ramifications.

He wrote,

Public Statement and Apology.

Hi. My name is Olaoluwa and I want to use this medium to the public and the parties involved in the viral Babcock students video that I’m truly and deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart for what I did.

I reposted the video on Twitter out of excitement and stupidity [unaware of the possible ramifications] and I didn’t think about the damages it would cost them.

I have made a mistake and I acknowledge it. Every time I remember what I did, I become gutted, angry and disappointed in myself.

In the little way that I can, I have made steps towards restitution with both parties.

I am learning to forgive myself and I hope that with time you can too.
