Case of alleged sexual harassment made against Professor Awonusi of the Department of English by Ms. Joy Nwanna.

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has suspended the second lecturer, Dr Samuel Oladipo, exposed in the BBC Africa Eye investigative report soliciting an amorous relationship from a supposed student.

Oladipo of the Department of Economics and Dr Boniface Igbeneghu of UNILAG’s Faculty of Arts and two other lecturers from the University of Ghana were exposed in the viral documentary unravelling how male lecturers sexually harass female students by demanding sex before awarding them grades.

While Igbeneghu had been suspended on Monday by UNILAG and the Foursquare Gospel Church where he pastors a local parish, Oladipo’s suspension was confirmed on Tuesday.

According to The Sun, the Vice-Chancellor of UNLAG, Prof Ouwatoyin Ogundipe, confirmed the suspension of Oladipo by the university management, adding that he would face a panel.

Prof Ogundipe told The Sun correspondent that Dr Oladipo was suspended today (Tuesday) for the same offence Dr Igbenehu was accused of.

On the insinuations making the rounds on the campus over the non-suspension of Prof Segun Awonsi, who was also accused of sexual harassment by a former female student, the VC said the cases were different because his accuser failed to respond to the invitation by the university management.
