Buhari assigns portfolios to ministers [See full list]
President Muhammadu Buhari has assigned portfolios to the 43 ministers sworn-in at the Aso Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
Former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, who oversaw three ministries during the first term, was stripped of the Ministry of Power but retained the Ministry of Works and Housing.
Chris Ngige, Rotimi Amaechi, Hadi Sirika, Lai Mohammed, Geoffrey Onyeama, Adamu Adamu and Abubakar Malami also retained their former portfolios.
The President also created a new portfolio named the Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
Buhari also revived the Police Affairs Ministry. The last time Nigeria had a Police Affairs Minister was during the administration of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.
