EPL Transfer: Bournemouth scare Leicester with £75m price tag on Nathan Ake, fans react
Leicester will not sign Nathan Ake in this transfer window, with Bournemouth valuing the defender at more than £75 million, a club official has said.
Ake, 24, has been capped ten times by the Netherlands and still has three years left on his existing Bournemouth contract.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is eager to sign a replacement for Maguire, but Leicester have made it clear they will not be held to ransom, and they have concerns there is not enough value in the current market.
Furthermore, Sky Sports News reported that Hull had a sell-on clause when they sold Maguire two years ago, and so Leicester will have to give up 15 per cent of the profit they make on the England defender.
They remain interested in James Tarkowski, who Burnley would be prepared to sell this summer at the right price.
But Leicester would have to break their record transfer fee to sign Tarkowski – he would cost more than the £40m they paid for Youri Tielemans earlier in this window, and Leicester are reluctant to pay that much.
Meanwhile, the £75 million price tag placed on Nathan Ake has sparked reactions among football fans on Twitter.
While some were of the opinion that the price is outrageous, others were of the opinion that Bournemouth were trying to pay back Leicester in their own coin for selling Maguire to Manchester United for £80 million making him the most expensive defender in the world. They believe Maguire is too expensive at that price.

Maguire is not worth £80M and £75M for Nathan Ake is laughable. But the joke’s on everyone bar the agents who can transfer silly money back into the real world. https://t.co/aY08K2q7G2

Has it seriously not crossed anyone’s mind that Bournemouth are pricing Nathan Ake at £75 million because…
1) He’s a key player for them
2) The window shuts on Thursday
3) Replacing him that quickly is hard
4) They have no need to sellfOoTbAlL’s GoNe MaD, mAtE!?!1?

Leicester thought they were smart making United pay 80m for Harry Maguire thinking that their replacement would only cost around half that.
