Ruga settlement: Nnamdi Kanu reacts to suspension, tells Biafrans next move
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to Federal Government’s suspension of the planned Ruga settlement project.
The Ruga settlement scheme was designed with the belief that it would stem the tide of herdsmen/farmers clashes in parts of the country.
The proposed scheme was suspended by the Federal Government on Wednesday till further consultations following the criticisms it has attracted from Nigerians.
The planned Ruga scheme sparked outrage and criticism from some state governors affected and members of the public who perceived it as another form of the earlier proposed cattle colony by the federal government.

Reacting, Nnamdi Kanu, who is presently on exile, took to his Twitter page to commended IPOB members for kicking against the scheme.
The IPOB leader further called for a referendum on Biafra restoration.

“As Jubril/the Cabal bows to pressure and suspend implementation of their #RUGA, let me salute IPOB worldwide which took a principled stand and fired the first salvo against this evident Fulanization agenda. Better yet, RUGA or not, a referendum on Biafra restoration is NEXT.”
