Star ‘Power Rangers’ actor dies at 38
The actor who played the Red Ranger on “Power Rangers Ninja Storm,” Pua Magasiva, was found dead on Saturday in New Zealand.
According to reports, the actor was found unresponsive after Police were called to a Wellington home early in the early hours of Saturday.
A police spokesperson said Saturday there were “no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death,” according to the paper.
The 38-year-old was best known for his role as Shortland Street nurse, Vinnie Kruse, who he played for more than seven years.
A post on the Shortland Street Instagram page said the staff were “absolutely devastated” at the news.
“Pua was a much-loved member of the South Pacific Pictures’ family for many years and our hearts and thoughts go out to Pua’s family at this time.” They wrote.
The Samoa-born star was raised in Wellington with older brother and fellow actor Robbie.
He was known for his roles in Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Sione’s Wedding, and television series Auckland Daze and Outrageous Fortune as well as appearing in more than 450 Shortland Street episodes.
He leaves behind a daughter from his first marriage and wife Lizz Sadler, who he married last year.
