9,000 candidates pass Oyo teacher recruitment

The Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Service Commission has announced the results of its computer-based tests for teacher recruitment, revealing that about 9,000 candidates have passed.

The Chairman of the Commission, Akinade Alamu, shared this news in a statement on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in Ibadan, the state capital.

Alamu explained that the commission set a minimum cut-off mark of 50 percent for moving to the next stage of the recruitment process.

He said, “We are pleased to inform that around 9,000 candidates have passed the computer-based tests and will proceed to the interview stage.”

The interviews will start on August 14, 2024, and will be conducted over the course of one week.

The panels, each consisting of five members, will be led by both current and retired Permanent Secretaries.

Alamu added, “The interviews will be held in ten panels, each with five members. We aim to ensure a thorough and fair selection process.”

Candidates should check their results on the commission’s portal. Alamu advised, “Please log into our portal to view your results.”

The interview schedule is as follows:

  • August 14, 2024: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography candidates.
  • August 15, 2024: English, Physics, Health Education, Technical Drawing, Music, and French candidates.
  • August 16, 2024: Basic Science, Home Economics, and Computer Science candidates.
  • August 19, 2024: Commerce, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, Literature in English, and Guidance and Counseling candidates.
  • August 20, 2024: Social Studies, Business Studies, and Food and Nutrition candidates.
  • August 21, 2024: Economics, Government, Finance and Account, Fine Arts, and History candidates.
  • August 22, 2024: Agricultural Science, Yoruba, and Arabic candidates.

Alamu urged all candidates to bring their credentials, including certificates of local government of origin and date of birth, to the interviews.

He wished them success, saying, “We look forward to meeting you at the interviews and wish you all the best.”
