Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti broke the UEFA Champions League record for most wins by a manager after his team’s 3-0 over Braga on Wednesday.
Goals from Brahim Diaz, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo secured the victory for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. This victory over Braga confirms Ancelotti’s side’s place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
With the win over Braga, Ancelotti is now on a record-breaking 116 wins in the Champions League.
Previously, this record was held jointly by Ancelotti and Manchester United’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who both had 115 wins.
Ancelotti’s victory over Braga has set him apart, becoming the sole holder of the record for most wins in the Champions League.
Ancelotti led Real Madrid to victory in the Champions League two seasons ago and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
