No fewer than 57 police officers has been decorated by the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, Ahmadu Abdullahi.

The officers were recently promoted from the rank of Inspectors of Police to the substantive rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II.

According to the PUNCH, the decoration ceremony, which took place on Friday at the State Command Headquarters Dutse, was attended by families and friends of the promoted officers

In a statement on Sunday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the Commissioner of Police congratulated the promoted officers on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.

Abdullahi tasked the promoted officers to consider their promotion as a greater responsibility and dedication in the discharge of their duties as the Nigeria Police has confidence in them.

He added that the promotion was a result of the Inspector General of Police’s recommendation and approval of the Police Service Commission.

“The Commission, therefore, urged the newly decorated officers to redouble their efforts in serving the general public and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity,” the statement added.
