A devastating car crash in Egypt has resulted in the loss of 32 lives and left 63 individuals injured, according to the health ministry.
The accident occurred on a Saturday morning in Egypt’s Beheira governorate, situated on the Cairo-Alexandria road, about 131 kilometers (82 miles) north of the capital, Cairo.
The collision involved a passenger bus and several cars, some of which caught fire. Tragically, many of the victims perished due to burns sustained in the fiery crash.
The health ministry quickly dispatched at least 20 ambulances to the scene of the accident. Health Minister Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stated that the injured were transported to a hospital in Wadi al-Natrun, while others were taken to Al-Nubaria.
Road accidents are unfortunately common in Egypt, with many factors contributing to these tragedies.
The condition of the roads is often poor, and adherence to traffic regulations is frequently lacking.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity and Nasser Social Bank have pledged to provide EGP 60,000 to the families of the deceased, and financial assistance will also be extended to the injured based on their needs and the severity of their injuries.
