- Daddy Showkey: Nigerian veteran singer, Daddy Showkey, was born on August 4, 1970. His real name is John Odafe Asiemo. He carved a niche for himself from the slums of Ajegunle and became the most famous ‘galala’ artist in Nigeria.Galala is a dance style and its origins can be accredited to the Delta-state native. Several modern-day dance steps were culled from the 46-year old’s style.To mark his birthday early Thursday, Daddy Showkey shared a prayerful message with his followers on Instagram, writing, “Thank God for everything, Baba I thank you o #daddyshowkey #showdonshow #ajegunle #lionclan #asalamamovement”

2. James Ibori: Nigerian politician, James Onanefe Ibori was also born on 4 August, 1959. He was the former Governor of Delta State from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He is currently in jail in the UK for corruption charges.
3. George Ogbeide: George Ogbeide was born on 4 August, 1968 in Lagos. He is a retired Nigerian long jumper. He won the silver medal at the 1991 Summer Universiade and the gold at the 1991 All-Africa Games.
Ogbeide finished fourth in 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1991 World Championships with teammates Olapade Adeniken, Victor Omagbemi and Davidson Ezinwa.
His personal best jump was 8.24 metres, achieved in July 1991 in Cottbus. This ranks him fourth among Nigerian long jumpers, behind Yusuf Alli (8.27 m), Charlton Ehizuelen (8.26 m indoor) and Paul Emordi (8.25 m).
