Music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has sparked widespread attention following viral videos showing him formally introducing his fiancée, Natasha Osawaru, to his family and kinsmen in Benue State.
In the circulating footage, Osawaru is seen respectfully engaging with Idoma elders and traditional rulers.
She arrived at the gathering in traditional red and black Idoma attire, complete with a matching scarf, and was accompanied by 2Baba and other family members.
The couple was welcomed warmly by dancers who performed a vibrant display of traditional dance.
Amid the growing buzz, popular entertainment blog Stella Dimoko Korkus reported that the couple’s traditional wedding was scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2025, in Benin City.
However, the report noted that the information was still developing. Sunday Scoop could not independently verify whether the wedding eventually took place.
Since their engagement, 2Baba and Osawaru have been a constant presence in each other’s lives, often seen together at various public outings—from shopping sprees to nightlife events and even visits to the Edo State House of Assembly. Their affectionate public appearances have only added to the excitement surrounding their relationship.
However, the romance has also stirred controversy. 2Baba’s public commitment to Osawaru emerged amid ongoing issues with his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay, with whom he shared nearly 12 years of marriage.
The introduction ceremony also raised eyebrows due to the absence of 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia. She had previously gone public with a plea for intervention in her son’s relationship with Osawaru.
“This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she stated.
Despite the mixed reactions, many fans have taken to the couple’s social media pages to extend their congratulations and well wishes.
A fan, Jogger, commented, “Benue State welcomes you. Our wife.”
Quinlogo added, “Congratulations on your wedding! You didn’t do a pre-wedding shoot with your husband and post it for us? You’re a young woman; act like one.”
Another netizen, Pathology, wrote, “My legend! I knew it would take a little time; your haters will applaud you for your moves. Social media is not real life…I wish you the best, my sister. Good luck. I love you both.”
Mhiz Vic shared, “Congratulations dear; happy married life.”
Pretty Omeche stated, “Our wife, we the Amufu people love you.”
