Terrorists attack Kaduna community, kidnap 22 as el-Rufai celebrates 62nd birthday
No fewer than 22 villagers have been kidnapped by terrorists (bandits) at Idon town in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday.
Vanguard reported that at least four other locals were injured in the attack that occurred on Wednesday which happened to be the birthday of Governor Nasir el-Rufai.
An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said that “the criminals came around 12:30 AM on Wednesday when the locals were fast asleep.”
“They shot guns indiscriminately, breaking doors and windows to force people into the forest.”
Although the el-Rufai-led state government and the police are yet to release an official statement to either confirm or debunk the report, a Councilor in the Kajuru Local Government Area of the state, Bala Jonathan, went ahead to release the names of the 22 abducted victims.
Jonathan said that “after the attack, the following people were abducted; Justina Joseph, Mary Joseph, Rejoice Joseph, Stephen Joseph Samson Ladan, Christiana David, Boniface David, Helen Aminu, Mirabel Aminu, Precious Philemon, Nelson Philemon, Christian Philemon.”
“Others are Yosi Gabriel, Stephen Clement, Jinkai Musa, Derrick Obadiah, Daniel David, Paul David, Istifanus Peter, Miracle Matthew, Jesse Charles and Favour Daniel .”
According to Jonathan, the four persons who sustained injuries during that attack are David Maigaya, Micah Musa, Josephine Matthew and Marshall Musa.
