211,699 Kebbi residents to receive N75,000 palliative each

The Kebbi State Government has announced that 211,699 individuals spread across the 21 local government areas of the state will receive N75,000 each through the Renewed Hope Cash Transfer program in a bid to provide financial relief to vulnerable citizens.

This amount will be disbursed in three payment circles of N25,000 each.

The Kebbi State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Hamidu-Jarkuka, shared this information during a one-day refresher training for local government cash transfer facilitators in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

According to the commissioner, the state’s cash transfer unit will commence the enrollment process for the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer program.

“The enrollment targets 160,708 beneficiaries from the National Social Register and an additional 51,258 beneficiaries from the Rapid Response Register. The enrollment will be actively ongoing in all the 21 local government areas and 71 wards in 3,308 communities across the state,” explained Hamidu-Jarkuka.

He emphasized that the program aims to bring significant financial relief to vulnerable citizens, contributing to their well-being and resilience amid the challenges posed by current economic reforms in the country.

Hamidu-Jarkuka urged the general public to verify if their communities and names are part of the current disclosure for validation and enrollment.

“The Renewed Hope Cash Transfer is an initiative under the National Social Safety Net Project Scale-Up. The President Tinubu-led administration says the Cash Transfer Programme would benefit 15 million households across the country. Beneficiaries will be paid N25,000 in each payment circle,” he added.
