Former Kaduna State governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has called on Nigerians to come together and vote out the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, warning that another term for the All Progressives Congress could endanger the country’s unity and future.
During a visit to Sokoto on Saturday as part of a grassroots mobilisation tour, El-Rufai addressed political stakeholders, youth groups, and women from all 23 local government areas of the state.
He described the APC-led government as “incompetent and clannish,” stating that its continued hold on power represents a serious threat to Nigeria’s progress.
The former governor expressed concern over what he termed “poor governance and failed leadership,” saying it was time to rescue the nation from decline.
“I didn’t get into politics to enrich myself but to serve.
And when a government ceases to serve the people, it is my duty as a senior citizen to not only speak out but take action to reverse the situation,” he said.
El-Rufai also revealed that the opposition coalition’s choice to adopt the African Democratic Congress as its platform for the 2027 elections was aimed at creating a credible, unifying alternative that puts national interest first.
“If we allow this APC government another term, what remains of Nigeria’s social fabric may be destroyed. This is the fight of our lives,” he declared.
He concluded by affirming that the coalition would continue to expand its mobilisation efforts across the country to ensure the APC is voted out in 2027.
