2023: Olubadan’s sibling, Deji Aboderin, enters race for House of Reps seat

Deji Aboderin, the younger brother to the current Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, has declared his intention to represent Ibadan North East/ Ibadan South East at the House of Representatives in 2023.

Aboderin was the former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi.

The young politician, who will be contesting on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state, made the disclosures during a meeting of PDP in Ibadan North-East local government area.

Daily Post reports that the meeting was held at Oluyoro Girls Grammer School, Padi in Ibadan on Thursday.

Recall that Aboderin was the All Progressives Congress candidate for Ibadan North East / Ibadan South East federal constituency at the 2019 general elections.

Ibadan North East / Ibadan South East is one of the fourteen federal constituencies in Oyo State.

The two local government areas, which make up the federal constituency in Oyo South Senatorial District, are currently being occupied by Dr. Muhammad Kola Balogun.

While speaking at his official declaration, the politician assured PDP members that he will not disappoint them if given the mandate to run on the platform of the party.

He added that politics is not about competition, saying that he is not joining the race to compete with anyone.
