2023: Again, Atiku declares interest to run for presidency as PDP candidate
A former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has registered interest to run for the position of the country’s presidency come 2023.
Atiku’s intention was contained in a leaked document as reported by News Guru.
In the leaked memo addressed to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku had cited that he was better equipped to become president now.
Atiku had lost to President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) in the 2019 election and was also defeated by Buhari in the All Progressives Congress APC primaries in 2015.
