Promising 2002-born striker Tyrese Omotoye is making great inroads at Norwich City, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Omotoye was handed his professional debut by manager Daniel Farke as the Canaries were beaten 3-1 by Luton Town on Wednesday, December 2, coming on in the 85th minute to replace Josh Martin in a tactical substitution.

The 18-year-old was given the chance to stake a claim for a first team role following the injuries suffered by strikers Teemu Pukki, Jordan Hugill and Adam Idah.

He is pushing to gain promotion to Norwich City’s first team on the back of his imperious displays for the U23 side in competitive games this season.

Omotoye has tallied four goals in the Papa John’s Trophy, including a hat-trick against Newport County on October 6, a feat that saw him nominated for the Player of the Round.

And he has also performed excellently in the Premier League 2 with a hand in four goals (3 goals, 1 assist) in his last six matches in the division.

Omotoye, who was born in Belgium to Nigerian parents, is open to representing the Nigeria national teams including the Flying Eagles.
