A 17-year-old girl from Yobe State, Nafisat Aminu, has made Nigeria proud after emerging as the top performer in the English Language category at the TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.

The event, which brought together over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, ended with Nafisat claiming the first position, beating contestants from across the world.

The news was shared on Monday when the results of the global competition were announced.

Nigerians on social media platform X took to their handles to celebrate the young girl’s win.

One user, Abbey Abby, posted, “Nigeria wins again,” in response to the news.

Another user added, “We have the best brains here; we dominate anytime we compete.”

Nafisat’s performance has added to a string of Nigerian wins this year. It also comes shortly after President Bola Tinubu gifted $100,000 each to members of the D’Tigress and Super Falcons teams for winning major African women’s basketball and football tournaments.
