A 15-year-old boy has been sentenced for stabbing to death another teenager outside his school gates in an act described as “pure evil”.
The 15-year-old who hasn’t been identified in the media for age reasons killed another 15-year-old boy, Quamari Serunkuma-Barnes, in January after chasing and stabbing him three times outside Capital City Academy in Willesden, west London.
It was revealed during his trial in court that he wore a mask while committing the act, but witnesses had recognised him and he was arrested the day after the attack. The deceased had also told one of the nurses treating him before he died.
The attack in Doyle Gardens came shortly before 3.30pm on January 23, as children left the school, which specialises in sports and the arts, TimesandStar UK reported. It was reported that the row that eventually led to the attack and subsequent death started on Instagram.
Both Quamari and his alleged killer followed each other on social media and attended the same youth club, the Roundwood Youth Centre, the court heard.
The day before the stabbing, the suspect was broadcasting on Instagram Live when Quamari’s friend joined the broadcast “by accident”, jurors were told.
When the suspect ordered him to “get out”, Quamari’s friend told him to “come up to Harlesden”, it is claimed.
Quamari, who was preparing to sit his GCSEs, died in hospital later the same day after undergoing surgery.
