An 11-year-old youth football player in Florida is facing a second-degree attempted murder charge after allegedly shooting two of his teammates at practice this week.

The suspect is being charged with one count of second-degree attempted murder.

Police are also considering pressing charges against the parents, who left the gun in a place where the child could reach it.

It is a crime to allow your children to have access to your firearm in an unsecured box,” Apopka police chief Mike McKinley said.
