11 passengers escape death as SUV collides with 18-seater bus on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

No fewer than eleven people escaped death around 2:20pm on Wednesday when a Honda CR-V Sport Utility Vehicle collided with a yellow 18-seater bus on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The accident occurred close to the premises of the headquarters of PUNCH Nigeria Limited, in Magboro, Ogun State.

According to eye an witness, the commercial bus was carefully parked by the road side as it discharged  its passengers.

However, the SUV, which many of the passengers felt was speeding, rammed into it forcefully, completely lifting the bus and its occupants off the ground.

The bus slammed down with equal force and landed on its side. The scared passengers clawed their ways out, using the available windows on one side of the bus.

And although no life was lost, some of the passengers were severely injured.

The driver of the SUV reportedly smashed his face on the steering wheel, resulting in copious bleeding, while some of the passengers in the commercial bus sustained varying degrees of injuries in various parts of their bodies.

All the injured have however been rushed to the hospital.
