11 Kano land encroachers faces court charges
The Public Complaints Commission has taken legal action against 11 individuals accused of trespassing on grazing reserves in Bagwai Local Government Area of Kano State.
The accused individuals were brought before a Kano magistrate court located at No man’s land area in Sabon Garri, Kano.
The Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Garba Mu’azu, confirmed this development in a statement over the weekend.
According to the statement, the legal action was initiated following a complaint filed by concerned citizens of the area.
Federal Commissioner of the commission in Kano State, Ahmad Ado Dadinkowa, emphasized the importance of addressing cases of alleged encroachment.
He noted that they have the potential to escalate into conflicts between farmers and herders, leading to more significant disputes in the region.
He urged the general public to abide by the law and refrain from engaging in activities that contravene legal provisions to prevent potential conflicts.
