The world was thrown into mourning on Sunday following the death of popular televangelist, Prophet Temitope Balogun fondly called TB Joshua.

WuzupNigeria reported that the prophet died in Lagos on Saturday evening shortly after concluding a programme at his Church.

Here are 10 things to know about TB Joshua

1. TB Joshua was the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

2. The preacher was quoted as saying he spent 15 months in his mother’s womb before his birth.

3. He was a key influence in former Liberian warlord, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson’s decision to endorse the candidacy of George Weah for president in the 2017 elections.

4. One of his Emmanuel TV YouTube videos was ranked by Google as the fourth most-viewed clip ever within Nigeria.

5. He was ‘blacklisted’ by the government of Cameroon in 2010  and termed a ‘son of the devil’.

6. The televangelist was called one of Africa’s 50 most influential people by Pan-African magazines – The Africa Report and New African Magazine.

7. He caused a stir and made headlines when he claimed his anointing water could cure the deadly disease Ebola. He subsequently sent 4,000 bottles of the water alongside a cash gift of $50,000 to the Ebola-stricken nation of Sierra Leone.

8. TB Joshua, in 2008 was awarded various accolades, notably receiving the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) by the Nigerian government.

9. He was voted the Yoruba man of the decade by Pan-Yoruba media outlet Irohin-Odua.

10. He was married to Evelyn Joshua and had three children.
