Popular Nigerian highlife and pop singer, Chinedu Okoli, better known as Flavour or Ijele, has announced the passing of his beloved father.

The heartbreaking news was shared by the award-winning artist on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

In a poignant post, Flavour wrote, “Chukwu wetelu. Chukwu ewelugo. Nna m Papa Ijele. Rest well,” accompanied by a touching video of him serenading his wheelchair-bound father with a guitar performance, surrounded by loved ones cheering and applauding.

Flavour, renowned for his vibrant music career that has captivated audiences worldwide, has often spoken fondly of his family and the profound influence they’ve had on his life and artistry.

According to news circulating online his father succumbed to age-related ailments after being confined to a wheelchair for some time.

The singer and his family are undoubtedly devastated by this loss, which comes as Flavour prepares for his upcoming European tour.
