A suspected cult member and pipeline vandal, Temona Alison, who is said to be on the wanted list of the police in Bayelsa State, has been arrested.

Alison, who is in his 20s, was apprehended by the Bayelsa State Police Command Strike Force on Sunday in his house on Tombia-Ammassoma Road by Boxi Water.

A police source told Southern City News that the suspect was arrested in possession of four grenades (miniature bombs), one live cartridge, a set of military uniform, one cutlass, among others.

The source, who spoke in confidence, said Alison had been on police wanted list over some criminal acts.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Mr. Asinim Butswat, confirmed the arrest of Alison.

Butswat, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the suspect was already undergoing interrogation.

The command’s spokesman said,

“On Sunday, February 4, 2018, at about 0100 hours, the Bayelsa State Police Command Strike Force, a team that specialises in tracking down wanted criminals, arrested one Temona Boleigha Alison, male, based on a tip-off.

“The suspect was arrested in possession of four hand grenades, one live cartridge, a set of military uniform, one machete, one SIM card and 12 wraps of a substance suspected to be cocaine. The suspect is undergoing interrogation.”
