A middle-aged man named Eric and his girlfriend were found dead in their apartment in the Ayeyemi area in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday.

Neighbors and residents believe the couple may have been electrocuted. They suspect that the couple had a generator running and a phone charging in a socket placed on the bed.

It is thought that the woman’s chain might have made contact with the socket, leading to their electrocution.

A resident named Ayo shared that Eric’s relatives discovered the bodies when they came to check on him after he didn’t answer his phone.

They looked through the window, saw the bodies, and then broke down the door to enter the house.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident. She said, “The deceased had been dating each other for about two years now and both families are aware of their relationship.”

The bodies have been taken to the morgue at a nearby hospital.
