JUST IN: Gunmen abduct medical doctor from Kogi General Hospital



Unknown gunmen have allegedly kidnapped a medical doctor, Oladunni Odetola, and a nurse, identified as Mrs Bamgbose, in Ogun State.

Odetola, who is the head of General Hospital, Imeko, Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of the state, and the nurse were kidnapped on Wednesday night while driving along Abeokuta-Imeko road.

The gunmen, it was learnt, had emerged from the bush at Olubo village to attack their targets.

The vehicle of the abducted persons, a Toyota Camry (Muscle) with registration number KTU 584 FR was left in the middle of the road, where it was discovered by the police.

It was further gathered that the police recovered the doctor’s NMA identity card and a minute of the association’s meeting in the vehicle.

WuzupNigeria reports that the front passenger-side tyre of the vehicle was punctured while the windscreen was also perforated, two empty shells of AK-47 ammunition were also recovered at the scene of the incident.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident.

He said that “police detectives are on the trail of the kidnappers.”
