At the age of 31, Popular disc jockey, Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, has revealed her plans to return to school to earn a fourth degree.
The daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, disclosed this in a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday.
Cuppy in the caption to the video wrote “Have the courage to break the patterns in your life that are no longer serving you. It changed me completely!”
In the video, she also stated that she already has three degrees, but her love for learning is what motivated her to apply to an academically demanding university.
She said “I finished a DJ gig, and I started working on an application. For something pretty important, I’ve decided to go back to school. I already have three degrees, but I love learning, and the university I’m applying to is very academically demanding, and the application is pretty rigorous.”
She also recounted her initial discouragement due to her age and how she overcame it by reflecting on her past educational achievements.
“I just felt quite discouraged. I’m 31 now, and my brain doesn’t work like it needs to. I was looking at the prerequisite, and I was like, ‘how am I going to do this?’ But I realised that I’ve done it before, and I can do it again.”
Florence in 2022 graduated from Oxford university after concluding her Master’s degree in African Studies.
