Cultists reportedly shoot Edo banker dead
A staff member of a new generation bank in Benin, Edo State, named Nosa, was shot dead by gunmen suspected to be cultists.
The tragic incident happened on June 20, 2024, in the Government Reservation Area of Benin City, the state capital.
Nosa was at work when he received a call from an unidentified person inviting him to hang out after work. Without suspecting any danger, Nosa agreed to meet his caller at a joint after finishing his work.
On his way to the meeting place, Nosa was ambushed by his attackers. They blocked his vehicle with their car and immediately opened fire.
Nosa was rushed to the hospital, where he was sadly confirmed dead.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed stating, “Yes, the command confirmed it, it is an unfortunate incident. As I speak, the matter is under investigation. Further information as we progress in the investigation will be made public by the police. The perpetrators will be brought to book.”
