AFCON 2025: Coachless Super Eagles to play two qualidiers September

The Confederation of Africa Football has confirmed the date and kick-off time for Super Eagles of Nigeria’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers in September.

The team, who are currently without a coach after the resignation of coach Finidi George, have two 2025 AFCON qualification games in September 2024.

According to DailyPost, an update on the CAF official website, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, on September 7, 2024. The game has been scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. (Nigerian Time).

Following the match, the Nigerian team will fly to Rwanda for their second game of the 2025 AFCON qualification series. The game will occur at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali at 2 p.m. (Nigerian Time) on September 10, 2024.

Note that Libya is the 4th national team in Group D, and they will face the Super Eagles on October 7 in Nigeria and October 15, 2024, in Libya at a yet-to-be-determined Kick-Off time.

The 2025 AFCON qualifiers are scheduled to run from September to November 2024. The tournament proper is expected to start in December 2025 and end in January 2026.

At the end of the qualification series, only the top two teams in each group will automatically qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
