Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, has addressed an X user who criticized her for participating in a movie role deemed below her status in the film industry.
The user mocked her involvement in the “Lekki Wives” reality show, questioning why someone of her stature would take on such a project.
The post read, “There are certain projects your brand should outgrow, because why is Rita Dominic in lekki wives or whatever it is called? Common.”
In response, Rita Dominic emphasized the importance of artistic integrity and urged her fellow actors not to be swayed by such comments.
She wrote, “Dear Actors, only people who have no single drop of artistic integrity speak like this. If you listen to them you will soon begin to believe you are more important than the industry that birthed you.
“You are an ACTOR, so make sure to find a way or platform to release the creative energy in you. Continue to hone your skills regardless of empty comments like this because knowledge is never-ending – yours truly, Rita.”
She reminded actors that their creative expression should not be limited by negative opinions and encouraged them to embrace any platform that allows them to showcase their talents.
The “Lekki Wives: The Reunion” is a highly anticipated project that brings together a talented ensemble cast, including Dominic, Joselyn Dumas, and Keira H.
