Dammy Krane reacts to Davido’s cease, desist order

Published

Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has responded to a cease and desist order from music star Davido’s lawyer, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, SAN.

The letter gave Dammy Krane 24 hours to retract offensive posts about Davido on social media and to stop posting defamatory statements.

Unbothered by the threat of a lawsuit, Dammy Krane made serious allegations against Davido regarding the late Tagbo, who was Dammy Krane’s friend. In a now-deleted tweet, Dammy Krane wrote, “BTW @policeNG I’m a witness to what Davido did to Tagbo. No peace for the wicked. Justice for Tagbo.”

In another tweet, Dammy Krane criticized Davido’s lawyer. After a Twitter user mentioned that the lawyer had recently taken legal action against Davido’s babymama, Sophia Momodu, Dammy Krane claimed the lawyer was just trying to make money from Davido. He tweeted, “Lawyer wey just wan collect money to dey shout ‘I put it to you’. E don dey push Davido go where e no know.”

This reaction from Dammy Krane follows the letter from Davido’s lawyer, which warned that failure to retract the statements would lead to legal actions. The letter stated, “Your conduct in publishing these statements, despite knowing them to be false, is not only malicious but also orchestrated to defame and injure the reputation of our client, a globally recognized music star.”

Davido’s legal team has made it clear that if Dammy Krane does not comply within 24 hours, they will “pursue all available legal remedies, including but not limited to initiating legal proceedings against you for damages and injunctive relief, and escalating this matter to the relevant law enforcement agencies.”
