Oyo approves recruitment of 338 traffic managers
The approval for the recruitment of 338 officers into the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority has been approved by the Oyo State Governor,Seyi Makinde on Thursday.
This recruitment notice was made known in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade.
The OYRTMA Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (retd), speaking during the screening exercise held at OYRTMA operational headquarters at Sanyo, Ibadan, said 2,450 applications were received from qualified candidates.
He stressed that the screening exercise was a manifestation of the responsive governance of Governor Makinde, who deemed the approval fit to increase the strength of OYRTMA with 338 officers.
The chairman explained that the approval was in pursuance of a revalidated approval policy signed in 2021.
“We have here today able-bodied men and women from Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun, Oyo town, and Ibadan competing for the various positions in OYRTMA.
“This recruitment exercise is organised with collaborative efforts of the state’s Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Establishment and Training. The screening exercise entails registration, accreditation, physical test and medical test,” he added.
He stressed further that qualified applicants at the first stage would move to other stages before the interview session that would be conducted by the Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Establishment and Training.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, represented by the Senior Administrative Officer on Recruitment, Adelowo Oladapo, commended the state government for the opportunity to reduce unemployment in the state.
The Director of Recruitment and Service Matters, Ministry of Establishment and Training, Olusola Ojelabi, described the exercise as a proactive step to addressing road traffic enforcement, rules and regulations.
